I am 22 years old. In other words， I was born in 1981，on the eight of March 1981，to be exact.
6. Does your name have any special meaning？
Yes， my name does have some special meaning. My family name means ‘peace’， and my first name means ‘strong one’。My English name was given to me by one of my high school teachers， and it does not have any special meaning really.

I presume you are referring to my Chinese name. Yes，the English equivalent of my family name would be something like ‘peace’，and in the case of my first name it would be ‘strong one’。 My English name was randomly chosen by one of my high school teachers，and it really doesn‘t have any special meaning.

No. I don‘t think it can do anything for me. I believe a person has to work out his own life. I am planning to do this as well as I can.

Not really. I am part of the new generation who do not attach too much significance to our names. Names were important to the older generation as they of the opinion that it will determine your destiny to some extent. However，I personally believe that I myself will determine my destiny irrespective of what my name is. I will do this by acquiring good qualifications and by working hard.

1. Well, as a high school student, I was frenquently told to concentrate on my study before big exams， like this IELTS test, final exams and the high school entrance exam. Those days could be very fast-paced cuz I hardly have any leisure.

2. Yeah. Some subjects like maths requires not only concentrating on details buy also great patience when caculating. Also, when I am reading an article from textbook, misunderstanding of a single word might lead to many faults.

3. I suppose it’s depend on the surroundings. When the classroom is very noisy and all the clas*ates around me are chatting, it could be hard for me to pay attention to my homework and I hate to be disturbed when I am concentrating on something. Howerver, I can concentrate easily when I listen to soft music or sit in a quite place.

6.As for me, I can say that I can’t leave my ipod and my headphone. I get used to listen to soft music when I am studying. Some people may find this habbit ridiculous and detrimental to my ability of concentrating, but I am not in agreement with them, or I would get bored soon.

My habbit is to listen to soft music when studying because it helps me to keep myself intrested to what I am doing, however it would be a bad idea to watching TV when reading a book. What I mean is that one person is able to do two different things on the premise that one thing he is doing will not disturb his concentrating on another thing.

– I come from a large family. Now, I just have my mom, an older brother and three younger brothers. My father passed away 17 years ago. I am the only daughter in the family.
2.How much time do you spend with your family?
– For now, I live one in another city far from my family so I only spend about two weeks each year with them.
3.What do you like to do together as a family?
-My family enjoys cooking together and having special meals together. We catch up and talk about our lives. We look back and share memories especially when we were still young. We enjoy music as well. So, when we get together, we play several musical instruments and sing along.
4.Do you get along well with your family?
-Sure. We are really close to each other. I am happy that I could tell them anything. They are always there to listen when I have problems.
5. Is yours a typical family?
-Well, I can say that, yes, our family is a typical one. A family, who stays by each other through good times and bad times.
6. Are there many different types of family in your country?
-Yes, types of family in terms of number and the members of a household. There are *all families with one two children to large families with about eight or more children. There are also households with extended families.
7. Who are you closest to in your family?
-I am closest to my mom. I think it is because we are the only women in the family. So, we share the same ideas about many things.

The roles of hu*ands and wives changed in recent years. Both spouses have been more open to perform different roles such as working outside the home or pitching-in with the household duties. Another change I think is limiting the number of children in the family. Parents nowadays think of having *aller families due to high cost of living.
Should hu*ands and wives have different roles within the family? Why (not)?
Traditionally, hu*ands and wives had clear-cut roles in the society. Hu*ands used to provide the financial need of the family, while women were expected to take care of the house. Changes had occurred over time and both hu*ands and wives started to take part in each of these roles. I think this change is good. It is not necessary to define each role. I think whatever role each hu*and or wife takes, as long as it is good for the family, it is okay.
Which are more important to you: your family or your friends?
Both are important but family is more important for me than friends. Friends may come and go but I know that my family is always there and will always be there no matter what happens in my life and no matter what decisions I take.
