China’s Mid-Autumn Festival is celebrated on month 8 day 15 of China’s lunar calendar. The Mid-Autumn Festival is the second most important festival to Chinese people after the Spring Festival. Every year, when the festival comes, Chinese go home from every corner of the country and the world for family reunions.

每年农历(lunar)八月十五日，是传统的(traditional)中秋佳节。在中，中秋节(Mid-Autumn Day/ Mid-Autumn Festival/Moon Festival)是仅次于春节(Spring Festival)的二大重要节日。这天回和人团聚(family reunion)对于每个中人数都是一种亘古的信仰(belief)。

每个人对“FAMILY”这个词也都有着不同的解读。在一则公益广告(public service advertising/public service announcement)中，“FAMILY”这个词被寄予了好的诠释, 即F.A.M.I.L.Y---Father and Mother I Love You.

The most common traditions for Mid-Autumn Festival are eating mooncakes, gazing at the moon and making Chinese Mid-Autumn Lanterns. In recent years, sending text messages to wish to each other well is also pretty popular.

在中，中秋节的传统活动(traditional activities)包括吃月饼(mooncake)，赏月(enjoy the full moon)，*花灯(lantern)。近年来，人和朋友互送祝福短信也成了潮流。

Mooncake is the most popular and important food eaten during the Mid-autumn Festival. Generally the flavors(口味) of the mooncakes are sweet and salty. There are many different fillings in the mooncakes. The most used fillings(填料；馅料) are as follows: Lotus seed paste (莲蓉, lían róng), Sweet bean paste (豆沙, dòu shā), Five kernel (五仁, wǔ rén), Egg yolk(蛋黄，dàn huáng), Jujube paste(枣泥，zǎo ní). Some modern mooncakes flavors are Ice cream mooncakes, Fruit and vegetable mooncakes, Seafood mooncakes, Meet mooncakes.

After having dinner with family, people usually admire the full moon Chinese people believe the full moon is a symbol of peace, prosperity, and family reunion. On Mid-Autumn night the harvest moon is supposed to be the brightest and fullest of the year, so the festival is also known as the "Day of Reunion" and the "Moon Festival".

在庭聚餐后，一人会一起赏月(enjoy/admire the moon)。中人赋予了圆月更加深刻的含义，月圆人圆。八月十五的月亮比其他几个月的满月更圆，更明亮，所以，中秋又称“团圆节”，“月亮节”。

People make lanterns of different shapes which can float on the rivers. Sometimes, they make Kongming (Hung Ming) lanterns, which can fly in the sky. All of these lanterns are with great expectations and good wishes.
